The family retreat is an immersive three-day experience designed to bring family members together in a secluded, discreet environment where they can bond, share, confront, and heal. Families come together to closely examine their ways of relating to one another, and to discover how these ways can sometimes be inadvertently harmful to other family members.
During the weekend, parents will learn about four key messages that set children up for success, and review the eight stages of human development that pave the way for children to become fully functioning adults. Parents will reflect on their own parenting strategies thus far, and work individually with family coaches to make any necessary adjustments.
Kids will be introduced to their own nervous systems, and learn the ins and outs of stress, anger, and overwhelm. They will work hands-on with family coaches to discover the tricks to managing anxiety, and use interactive exercises to practice these new skills.
Armed with new knowledge, families will then come together to investigate their own family dynamics. Through four key exercises, families will reveal the unspoken truths of their “family dance,” and see their interactions in a completely new light. The weekend will conclude with family pledges—members will be encouraged to take accountability for their part, and make pledges to change for the better.
